Middle School Baseball League Try Out Update

The first try out date for the new Middle School Baseball League has been scheduled for Tuesday February 7, 2017 at Diamond Sports Training (DST) at 8 pm. Please arrive 20 minutes early to check in. The try out is expected to last no more than 2 hours and should end no later than 10 pm. DST is located at 45658 Oakbrook Court, Suite 110, Sterling VA. Please wear tennis shoes and bring a glove, helmet and bat. The second and final try out will also be held at DST on Friday February 10 at 7:30 pm. You may attend one try out or both but its recommended you attend the first as possible.

Managers have been selected for both the teams that Lower Loudoun Little League will field. They are Mike Reilly for Seneca Ridge and Brian Best for River Bend. Both managers have extensive travel baseball coaching experience and will work with the Dominion HS and Potomac Falls HS baseball coaching staffs as possible to ensure that players in the middle school program are familiar with what to expect at the next level.

We expect the rosters for the middle school teams to be 12-14 players; the Managers will determine this based on their preference and needs. But there will be more players trying out than spots on the teams. As a result, players who do not make a middle school roster will be asked to attend an assessment for the managers of the Juniors – House level. We currently expect there to be 3 teams at this level. These Juniors – House teams will compete against each other as well as teams made up of other players not trying out for or making middle school level teams throughout Loudoun County. Details on this assessment will be forthcoming soon.

Please DO NOT come to the try out unless you have registered to play baseball in Lower Loudoun Little League at the Juniors level. Because of the extenuating circumstances relating to the new league, we have extended registration for the Juniors level through February 6.
