UPDATE 03/23/2020:

This afternoon Governor Northam announced the closing of schools for the remainder of this school year. We are in the process of discovering what this means to us, as we use county fields and are currently unsure about the scope of the closures. In addition, we are monitoring the decisions of our parent organization, Little League International. As always the safety of the players, staff, and our families is paramount. Please stay tuned and we will announce any changes as soon as possible.

UPDATE 03/16/2020:

Based on the recommendation of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention to refrain from gatherings for at least eight weeks, Little League International is strongly encouraging the suspension of activities until May 11, 2020.  While we are continuing to plan and maintain readiness, the Lower Loudoun Little League Board of Directors is inclined to put safety ahead of all else and follow these guidelines.  All baseball activities are temporarily suspended until May 11, 2020.  As forecasts change we will continue to keep you updated.

UPDATE 03/13/2020:  All of District 16 has suspended Little League activities until 04/06/2020.

Dear Lower Loudoun Little League Families,

As the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak is taking place worldwide, we wanted to reach out to share the current impacts and how we are addressing the issues at hand.  Safety is always a priority, and this is no exception.  We are following recommended guidelines and, as always, we are working with our local school systems and authorities.

Currently we are ramping up for our 2020 Spring Baseball season.  We remain hopeful that it will take place as planned.  That said, we will keep you apprised of dates as they change.   With the school systems closed for the near future we are in the process of discovering what that means for field availability, etc.  We are working to see if we can adapt the currently scheduled Coaches/Volunteer meeting to a virtual meeting.

Our parent organization has published an update and we will continue to work with them and coordinate accordingly.  As we discuss and plan, we encourage everyone to use common sense.  If you or a family member are exhibiting symptoms then please do not attend any event until everyone in your household has returned to health.  Use good judgement and please take good care of yourselves.

Sincerely,

Lower Loudoun Little League Board of Directors
